A shoutout is in order for Trevor Brown ’15 who was recently featured in Forbes and the Boston Globe for his company Swapt, co-founded with friend Andrew Smith.

Brown and Smith both saw a need for a more personalized in-person consumer experience—if your digital life has the power to be tailored, why not be able to walk into your favorite brewery and have the same happen?

So in April 2022, the two turned to QR codes to solve the problem, and Swapt was born. With Swapt, businesses can deliver hyperpersonalized experiences to their in-person consumers; whether it’s the first or the tenth visit, the experience should match, allowing consumers access to personalized and exclusive offers from their favorite brands, businesses, and artists. Forbes and the Globe report the startup recently raised $550K in a pre-seed round led by Perkins Cove Partners, with participation from the co-founders of Klaviyo, Andrew Bialecki and Ed Hallen, Asymmetric Capital Partners, and other strategic angel investors. Brown bestows the credit for his burgeoning success upon his alma mater.

“My time at St. John’s Prep has been instrumental in getting me to where I am today and where I will go tomorrow. The Xaverian values, Prep work ethic, and community instilled within me have played a key role in my most significant accomplishments and supported me in my darkest times. I could not be more grateful for my time at the Prep.”
