Title: Fountain
Regional Award: Honorable Mention
“I wanted to challenge myself. I never made a fountain before. There were a lot of pieces to this, so it look a lot of time to engineer it with Mr. McAuliffe, like figuring out how to have enough water at the bottom but not so much that it overflows. It was fun figuring out all of that complicated stuff.”

Title: Blue Flower Vase
Regional Award: Honorable Mention
“The piece kind of just happened as I went. I went to Portugal over the summer, and took some inspiration from the flowers that I saw there.”

Title: We're Outside, Rejoice!
Regional Award: Silver
“In reality, I just made what I wanted to make. I just felt inspired to make it because I wanted to see if I could sculpt both the inside and outside of a person.”

Title: Boston Harbor
Regional Award: Honorable Mention
“This one was actually the first artwork that I started working on [this year]. It took me pretty much a whole quarter. The bottom half probably took the most work with the water, which I'm very proud of, and I think is probably the best part of the drawing.
"I wanted to do something city-like, and it took me a few weeks to really figure out what I wanted to do, but I was looking for photos, and I live near Boston, so I figured, why not? I found a reference photo that I liked and I just went from there.”

Title: Boston Christmas Shop
Regional Award: Honorable Mention
“I was working on my portfolio and I wanted something a little more complex. It was around Christmas time, and I think I saw something that kind of inspired me–something like colonial Britain. I was looking for photos and I found a photo of Scrooge's shop and I kind of went from there. I'm very proud of the way this one turned out. It's one of the most complex artworks that I've done on my iPad on Procreate. I've done other artworks, but nothing quite like that.”
