"The relationships students have with their teachers go far beyond the four or seven years they spend here. Our college-aged sons have reached out to their old teachers many times for guidance, and each time their teachers have been there to celebrate my sons' wins and help them through losses."

A Balanced, Integrated Approach
We help students create a schedule with wellness, co-curricular, and free time in mind.
Intellectual, emotional, and social wellness plays into academic scheduling at St. John's. When choosing courses or creating a schedule, school counselors help students balance the following:
- Freshmen are encouraged to opt for a free period. It gives them time to settle into a new school year, adjust to a new academic environment, and leave space for getting homework or studying done during the day.
- Fine arts courses serve as a "brain break" for students, allowing them to step outside a typical classroom set up and enter into a meditative space through art.
- Flexible scheduling means that students might be able to take an early-morning elective in order to free up a school-day class period for a high-GPA-weighted elective if they want a challenge.
