Prep for Prep

This optional program is open only to members of the Class of 2022 at St. John's. It is designed for incoming freshmen, who want to get a head start on the skills necessary for a successful freshman year and high school career. This program is taught by St. John's Prep faculty and focuses on academic skill development, teamwork and project based activities. An evaluative component will assess each student’s strengths and areas for growth before the start of their freshman year. The program includes:

  • Algebra & Problem Solving
  • Summer Reading Review
  • Freshmen Science Skills
  • Organizational & Study Skills
  • Leadership & Community Building
  • Art Studio
  • Athletic Skills
  • Hot Lunch
Important Note: Teachers will use iPads and calculators during the Prep for Prep program. Students are required to have their iPad & Casio Prism calculator for this program and for the coming fall. There will be a limited number of iPads available for those who do not have them. Students will be receiving their summer reading in electronic form only and will learn valuable skills on the iPad that will be a tremendous help in preparation for the fall.

Dates and Costs of Prep for Prep

  • Students can choose from two sessions:
    • Session 1: June 11–14 and June 18–21, Monday through Thursday
    • Session 2: June 25–28 and July 9–12, Monday through Thursday
  • Students and parents are required to attend a meeting with our Information Services Department prior to Prep for Prep. More information will be provided in June.
  • Time: 8:30 am–2:30 pm
  • Tuition: $625 

Optional EXTENDED DAY Program

Students taking the Prep for Prep program may choose to enroll in our extended day program. A fun way to complete the day! Unwind with indoor and outdoor games, nature walks, and a weekly trip to Goodies Ice Cream in Danvers. Extended day runs from 2:30 to 4 pm.

Prep for Prep Registration Form: Parents of students must read the following text and enter their name below to indicate that they have read and are in accord with its contents.

By sending our son / daughter to Summer Program classes at SJP, we agree that SJP has the right to expect that our son / daughter will comply with the rules and regulations as set forth in the STUDENT / PARENT HANDBOOK. It is our understanding that attending Summer Program classes sponsored by SJP is a privilege that may be revoked. We further understand that the Administration has the right to set policies and make decisions, as they in their exclusive discretion, find not only to be in the best interest of our son / daughter, but also in the best interest of the SJP community.

By signing this agreement we, the undersigned parents / guardians are stating that we are the person(s) responsible for the full payment of summer course tuition to St. John's Preparatory School for the student registered according to the rates set forth on the registration page. Failure to keep this agreement could result in penalties as listed on the school website in the Non-Payment section of the Tuition Policies.

We, the undersigned parents / guardians authorize the faculty and staff of SJP to treat the undersigned student in case of emergency. We, the undersigned parents / guardians and student, hereby release, the school, its agents, employees or trustees from liability for any act or omission conducted in the course of rendering such care. Should an emergency arise and school authorities are unable to contact parents / guardians, we the undersigned parents / guardians authorize emergency service personnel to treat the undersigned student. We acknowledge that there are no medical personnel on campus during classes held after 3pm and on weekends.

We do hereby contract with SJP that we, the undersigned parents / guardians and student, will comply with the SJP rules and regulations, and that we, the parents as well as our son, will accept those decisions made by SJP. We, the undersigned parents / guardians and student, hereby release and agree to hold harmless, the school, its agents, employees and trustees from all claims, damages and other liabilities, of every kind and description, for injuries, of every kind and description, to the student which are not the result of gross negligence by the school, its agents or employees. We, the undersigned parents / guardians and student, also agree to indemnify and hold harmless, the school, its agents and employees for damages to persons or property by the student. Hold harmless shall include any and all damages of every kind and description and shall include, but not be limited to, attorney’s fees and other costs of defense. We, the undersigned parents / guardians and student agree to reimburse the school for any damage done by the student to school property or facilities.
