Best Buddies meeting Thursday, Dec 5 right after school in K217.

 

For those in the 3:10pm group for hockey try-outs, the buses will leave from in front of the Wellness Center no later than 2:45pm. All candidates must present their "pass to play" card and helmet waiver form in order to receive a tryout jersey.

 

There will be a liturgy for the Feast of St. Francis Xavier on Friday, Dec. 6th. Students in all grades should wear a dress shirt and tie for this service. Students should report to their F & G blocks. Students will be called at the end of their second period for liturgy to begin at 11am.

 

Ski team tryouts will take place today beginning at 3pm on the turf next to the wellness center.

 

This Saturday cheer on SJP in the Division I Superbowl Football Game at Gillette Stadium. St. John's Prep will run a fan bus to the Superbowl at Gillette Stadium. The bus is for SJP students only and the cost is $10. Buses will begin boarding at 6:45 and will return immediately after the game. Students riding the bus must ride round trip; no pick ups at the game. Details in the parent newsletter.

 

On Friday, December 6, Student Council will sponsor Student Night at the Show for the Drama Guild's production of "Pippin." This is an opportunity for High School students to invite a date, friend, or come on their own with their classmates to attend the show at a discounted rate! We have a limited block of seats, so secure your tickets today!

 

As a result of the weather, students may wear boots beginning today. Boots must be laced, tied and covered by pants. 

 

Any 10th, 11th, or 12th grade students interested in the Washington DC Close Up trip in March must meet with Mr. Mathison on Thursday right after school in room X403.  Close Up is a one week Government Study program that features a day on Capitol Hill, meetings with your representatives in Congress, debates , seminars and workshops with government leaders and students from around the country.

 

Come help build beds for Homeless Families on Dec. 6th in Memorial Gym from 12:30-2:30pm. No carpentry experience is needed! Pizza will be served!

 

Starting Dec. 2nd until Dec. 13th, we will be collecting new and like-new articles of winter clothing for those in need. Accepting items for all ages – collection boxes will be in Campus Ministry, Kennealy Commons and in the lobby of Benjamin Hall. We are also going to collect new socks and underwear for boys and girls ages 5-14. Share the warmth!

 

Ho, Ho Ho, the Great Toy Drive is Here! Sponsored by the Student Council and L.U.N.A, the toy drive will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Salem and Lawrence. Bring your gifts to your C block class. If you have an unscheduled C block please deceiver your gift to Xavier Main Office, Br. Keefe Academic Center Main Office, or Student Life Office. You have until December 13th. 

 

Signups for the 5 on 5 intramural basketball league are going on now through December 5. If you want to enter a team or sign up as an individual, please email Mr. Lovett your entry.

 

Looking for an opportunity to be the voice among your peers by doing the morning and afternoon announcements? Check your email for The Voice of St. John’s Application. The Voice of St. John’s will be a student led group responsible for morning and/or afternoon announcements. Multiple students from each grade will be selected. All applications are due by Friday December 6th.
