Today is Day 2 in the schedule rotation. Reminder, ID should be on  a lanyard around students’ necks. Please send any students without an ID to the main office. 

Tis the season, boot season that is . Given the now snowy conditions, students are permitted to wear boots to school. Remember, boots must be completely laced, tied, and covered by pants in order to comply with the dress code. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action.

Are you an excellent speller? Do you want to put your skills to the test? Sign up for the 2019 SJP Middle School Spelling Bee, takes place tomorrow after school The practice bee will be held on TODAY during advisory. Sign up sheets are located in the main office and outside room 228. Contact Mr. McKeon for more details. 

There will be a Model UN meeting today after school in B226

The toy drive will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Salem and Lawrence is underway. Please bring your donated toys to your AM advisory.

Winter Clothing Collection - Please drop gently worn winter coats, gloves, scarves, hats and shoes, as well as boy's clothing in sizes 7-8, 18-20, or adult medium into the collection box in the lobby of Brother Benjamin Hall.

This week’s riddle is, It’s so fragile even just saying its name can break it. What is it? If you think you know the answer, place your guess in the box located in the student center. Remember, only 1 submission.


Please Note - Early Dismissal 12:30 pm  - Friday, December 6: Founder's Day Liturgy

Dress code: Dress shirt and tie.

  • Dismissal: School will be dismissed at 12:30 pm, following Mass.

  • Bus departure: Buses will leave campus at 1 pm.

  • Middle School: The Digital Commons will be open until 2 pm; the Dining Commons will be open until 4 pm. Middle School food service will be available in the morning as usual. A limited grab-and-go option will be available after school

Division I Superbowl Football Game at Gillette Stadium - Saturday, December 7

St. John's Prep will run a fan bus to the Superbowl at Gillette Stadium.

  • The cost is $10 per person.

  • This transportation is for SJP students only.

  • Buses will begin boarding at 6:45 and will return immediately after the game. Students riding the bus must ride round trip; no pick ups at the game. 

  • Reserve your seat on the bus here.

  • Student riding the bus must have purchased a game ticket IN ADVANCE! Please do not buy at the gate; they are anticipating very long lines.

  • Information about purchasing tickets will be emailed to families early next week.

Ho, Ho Ho, the Great Toy Drive is Here! Sponsored by the Student Council and L.U.N.A., the toy drive will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Salem and Lawrence. This year, students in grades 6 through 12 hope to gather enough toys to make the holidays merry for these children! Give your toys to your AM advisory teachers.

Winter Clothing Collection - Our annual winter coat drive is underway. Needed items are new and like-new men's, women's and children's winter coats, gloves, scarves, hats and shoes, as well as boy's clothing in sizes 7-8, 18-20, or adult medium. Collection boxes in the lobby of Brother Benjamin Hall.

Grade 8 Class Picture–December 6: Grade 8 will have their formal class picture taken after the Founder's Day liturgy on Friday, December 6. Dress code for liturgy is dress shirt and tie. The picture will be available on SmugMug.

Middle School Academic Mid-Quarter is December 6. Faculty may send home optional comments through email to update you on your son's academic progress.

December 10: Middle School Picture Retake Day

The school photographer will be on campus for retakes on Tuesday, December 10. If you wish to have your son's picture retaken, please send him to school that day with the photo package you received and wish to return. School dress code will apply, Ties are optional.

NEW! December 11: Middle School and High School Concert 

Join the Middle School Bands, High School Concert Band, and High School Jazz Band on Wednesday, December 11 at 7 pm in the Memorial Gym for their annual Band Winter Concert!

 NEW! December 16: Middle School Strings & Chorus Concert

Save the date for our annual Middle School Christmas Concert on December 16 at 7pm in the Memorial Gym. The evening will feature festive music of the season performed by the Middle School String Orchestra, Choral Ensembles, and Festival Music Ensembles!

NEW! Middle School Midterms: Middle School midterms will take place between January 9 and January 17. The list of midterms students will take are as follows:

  • Grade 6 – mathematics

  • Grade 7 – mathematics

  • Grade 8 – science, world languages, mathematics.

A more detailed schedule for exams will be released in the next couple of weeks.

NHS Tutors Available: Middle Schoolers can get help with their homework from SJP high school NHS tutors in CLAS, Monday through Thursday, from 3 to 4:30 pm.
