Today is a Day 1 in the schedule rotation.  Teachers please check to make sure students are wearing their ID and are in dress code.

There will be NO 6th grade drama club today

Ski and Snowboard Club meets tomorrow.  See Mr. Eighmey with any questions. Permission forms are needed to attend.

Have you checked out what's going on in Campus Ministry these days?  Join them Wednesday at 2:40 to say the rosary; celebrate Mass on Friday at 7:25, and sign up for Thursday community services opportunities. See Mr. Driscoll for details about how to get involved.

Wednesday is a delayed start however there is no class meeting in the middle school. The digital and dining commons will open at 7:00 am.  Classes for middle school students will begin at 9:00.

Friday is a dress down day to benefit  the Xaverian Missions and upcoming SJP service trips.  Please be generous.

Join the Middle School Fine Arts Department for the Art Show on January 16 at 6:30 in the Ryken Center for the Arts. We hope to see you there!

6th Graders are invited to Movie Night and 7th and 8th graders are invited Open Gym Night on Jan 25th! Sign up on the Parent Portal.

Students who would like to go to CLAS for homework help, please come to the main office before 3:00 pm to meet your NHS tutor

IMPORTANT: In order to maintain a safe and orderly parking lot, Middle School parents are reminded that when dropping off behind Benjamin Hall, students should stay in the car and wait until they are parallel to the recess court or near the theater for drop-off.

CLAS learning coaches will provide study strategies for the upcoming midterms for 6th grade students during their Advisory period tomorrow, January 15.

Second Semester Schedules – January 16: Second semester schedules for grades 6 through 12 will be available in Veracross on Wednesday, January 16. Please take a moment to review your son's schedule with him to be sure it is accurate. Students should see their school counselor if they have any questions.

There will be a meeting in the lobby of Brother Benjamin Hall before school on Thursday morning, January 18 at 7:30 am for parents interested in learning more about the upcoming SJP Gala.  The Gala will take place on April 6th.

Tickets are now on sale for the Middle School production of "Shrek JR".  The show will take place January 18th through the 20th in Kaneb Theater! Tickets are available at

Middle School Midterm Schedule:

  • Grade 6 Math: January 18

  • Grade 7 Math: January 17 (Part 1) and January 18 (Part 2)

  • Grade 8 Science: January 10 (Part 1) and January 11 (Part 2)

  • Grade 8 World Languages: January 15

  • Grade 8 Math: January 17 (Part 1) and January 18 (Part 2)

These exams will take place during regularly scheduled class times. Please check the Student and Parent Handbook for more details on weighting of these exam grades. If you have any questions, please reach out to your son's school counselor or Jason Larocque, Associate Principal for Grades 6, 7 and 8.

Grade 7 Parents: All grade 7 parents are invited to join us for "Halfway through Middle School: Strategies for Grade 7 and Beyond" on Wednesday, January 23 from 4:15 to 5:15 pm in Memorial Dining Hall (Milano Dining Room). The discussion will cover how to access support, healthy habits, Campus Ministry/service, successful study skills, and standardized testing.

Grade 6 Trip to the Museum of Science: Grade 6 students will explore the Museum of Science in Boston on Friday, February 8. More information can be found on the Parent portal.  Permission slips must be submitted by Friday, February 1.

Grade 7 Field Trip to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute: Grade 7 will visit the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate on Friday, February 8. More information can be found on the Parent Portal.  Permission slips must be filled out and submitted by Friday, February 1.

2019 End-of-Year Grade 8 New York City Trip: Sign-ups for the annual eighth grade trip are now open! Students planning to return to St. John's for high school and who maintain good behavioral standing through the remainder of their eighth grade year are eligible to attend a 3-day/2-night New York City Urban Expedition Program organized through NYC Outward Bound.  More details can be found on the Parent Portal.
