About SJP Athletics
The philosophy, goals and policies that guide our athletics program reflect our belief that participation on an athletic team can be a rewarding educational experience. It is important for our student-athletes to understand the time demands, responsibilities, dedication and sacrifices required when making this commitment. Student-athletes must maintain good academic and disciplinary standing to maintain the privilege of participating in the interscholastic athletic program. A winning tradition
We're proud of the Prep's athletic tradition. The 1914 football team won the national Catholic championship at Chicago's Comisky Park, earning an invitation to the White House from President Woodrow Wilson. The win marked the beginning of a long legacy of athletic excellence at St. John's.
