Supporting Mental Wellness
November launches a year-long mental wellness social media campaign as an additional student resource in support of the Prep's mental wellness programs and initiatives. At St. John's, we aim to teach students everyday to live lives of balance by offering awareness, education and tools to live happy and healthy lives.
In partnership with School Counseling, the Alumni Office invites the alumni community to help support St. John's Prep students in sharing your best piece of advice on how you strive to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle! Use the form below to share a few words of wisdom or your own personal wellness story.
There are a variety of ways in which we addressed, and will continue to address, the mental wellness of our students. School counselors and teachers actively partner to identify students that can benefit from mental wellness resources. School counselors intentionally engage with students in conversations about their mental wellness throughout the course of the school year. And this year in particular, faculty have participated in on-going workshops related to social-emotional learning and wellness, as well as trauma-informed teaching, focusing on positive relationships and establishing routines. In addition, there are several pathways that can help provide students with direction and normalize the use of mental wellness resources.
You don't need to be an expert to share the healthy habits you've adopted in your daily routine. Our goal is to encourage students to start talking about their mental wellness and taking small healthy steps.
