Prep for the Prep

This optional, one-week program is open to members of the Classes of 2024 and 2027 at St. John's. It is designed to be both fun and informative, providing rising freshmen and incoming sixth graders with an opportunity to begin to familiarize themselves with the Prep campus, academic program, co-curricular program, as well as connect with faculty, staff, and fellow classmates. During the program, students will be introduced to the breadth of opportunities available for them in the fall, and encouraged to begin thinking about their interests, strengths, and areas of growth. The program includes:

  • Connect with St. John's Prep faculty and staff
  • Build new friendships with future classmates
  • Learn English, math, and organizational skills in the morning
  • Introduction to biology with labs and fun programs in the afternoon

Virtual Alternative

Guidance from state and local government related to in-person events could change at any time, which is why St. John's is preparing for both in-person and virtual options. It our sincere hope that we will be able to hold Prep for the Prep and summer catch up courses in-person and on campus, but in the event that we are unable to do so, we will provide virtual alternatives that will happen during the same weeks outlined above. Tuition will be prorated accordingly, and the program will be condensed to be cognizant of screen time and wellness.

The Prep community is one of the School's greatest strengths, and one of our primary focuses in our remote learning strategy is to continue fostering meaningful relationships and close connections, even in a virtual environment.
