Athletic Hall of Fame
We celebrated the Prep's proud tradition of athletic excellence at the 32nd Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on May 19, 2018.
The St. John's Prep Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1985, and is proud to recognize alumni, coaches, and supporters for outstanding contributions to the athletic program at the Prep. Since that time, 245 individuals have been elected to the Hall of Fame, and this year fifteen new inductees joined this distinguished group and become fellow members of the Prep’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
The prestigious Crystal Eagle Award was presented to longtime team physician John Duff, M.D. ’45. A pioneer in sports medicine, he is only the 7th recipient of the award in Prep history. Gracious in their emotional acceptance speeches, the inductees paid tribute to one another, and expressed sincere gratitude to their coaches, their teammates and their families while sharing stories and favorite memories of the Prep.
