Dear Students, Parents, Faculty, and Staff:
Acclimation days are intended for each cohort of students to reorient themselves with their new educational setting, whether that be on-campus again, or full-time remote. The day will function much like a regular school day: each student will go through their actual academic schedule and be able to meet their teachers and classmates. As a reminder, while one cohort of students is on campus, the other cohort does not have to participate at home via Zoom.
The following links include schedules for Cohort A, Cohort B, Remote-Only students, and transfer students (if applicable).
Student Orientations Orientations are carefully designed to give students who are new to St. John's space and time to connect with their classmates. We are happy to announce that orientations (with the exception of our international student orientation) will take place on campus, as well as have digital components. Detailed information about orientations—including transportation notes, schedules, dress code, and lunch—will be sent to new families next week.
New Parent Orientation
Physical Textbooks and Supplies Class schedules were released on August 19 at 3 pm. After you review your son's schedule, please review the High School book list page and Middle School book list page in the Parent Portal for the books and school supplies needed for his courses. The lists are also available in the Student Portal. Physical textbooks have been automatically purchased and will be charged to each student's FACTs account. A follow up email will be sent from the bookstore with a form for each family to sign up for a time to pick up their items before classes begin.
Information with instructions on how to acquire eBooks and iBooks will be emailed to families prior to the start of school.
Guidance regarding fine arts and physical education classes has been released by the state and reviewed by the School. Fine arts classes and physical education classes will take place this fall. We will be hosting two webinars to address the health and safety measures that will be taken in each department.
Clubs and Activities Update We expect guidance on after-school programs and activities to be released by the state in the near future. We will review the guidance once it is released, and will share our plans for clubs and activities for the beginning of the school year with families.
With the recent release of EEA, DESE and MIAA guidance for fall athletics, we are finalizing the fall sports that will be offered in the Middle School and High School. As a result, the fall sports meetings have been changed to Wednesday, September 2 for High School families, and Thursday, September 3 for Middle School families. Please register for the appropriate meeting below.
Next week, be on the lookout for detailed information regarding orientation, busing and transportation, and fall sports participation cards. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
