Transfer Students

Considering Transferring to St. John’s Prep?

Each year, we welcome a limited number of transfer students into grades 7, 8, 10, and 11. If you're exploring new academic or community opportunities, St. John’s offers the support and resources to help you make a successful transition. Become an inquiry to be matched with an admissions counselor and learn more.

Why Transfer?

  • Strong Academics with personalized course placement—every high school transfer meets one-on-one with an academic principal to build a schedule that fits their background. Middle School transfers go through an onboarding process to meet their needs. View our High School and Middle School programs of study to learn more about what St. John's offers.
  • Inclusive community supported by a transfer-specific orientation program designed to help students adjust and thrive from day one.
  • A vibrant campus with over 80+ clubs, athletics, and a wide range of leadership programs. Whether you're passionate about the arts, robotics, debate, athletics, campus ministry, or student government, there’s a place for you to get involved, build connections, and make your mark from the start.

What to Know

  • We strongly encourage campus visits so you can get a true sense of student life at St. John’s.
  • If you're transferring after beginning ninth grade and plan to participate in athletics, speak with our admission team about MIAA eligibility rules.
  • Admission is selective and based on space availability in the requested grade.
