Day In the Life: Brady M.

7:30 am - Arrive At School

Brady starts today bright and early on campus with his elective Honors Strings class. “Attendance today is always great,” he says “it's thursday which means its donut day”.

8:20 am - First Class, Modern World History

Brady’s first class of the day is Modern World History, where he has a test on the most recent unit, the African Continent.

9:31 am - English

As the end of the semester approaches, Freshman English is breaking ground on Shakespeare, starting with Romeo and Juliet. Brady says, because he's an actor, it’s totally in his wheelhouse.

10:37 - Chinese

Switching gears, Brady heads over from Xavier Hall to Keefe for his Chinese Class. When asked why he picked Mandarin Chinese, he said “I did a bit of it in middle school and really liked it. It’s tricky, but I’ve had some really great teachers that have made it much more interesting.”

11:09 am - Lunch

Today, Brady has second lunch, which means that he breaks halfway through his Chinese class to head to lunch. While most guys would head to the Dining Hall, Brady spends his lunches down in Ryken with the rest of his friends from the Drama Guild. But, today’s not just any day, it’s cast-list day. Brady checks his email eagerly and celebrates with his friend. Sawyer, having both been cast in this year's production of  The Book of Will

12:28 pm - INTRO To Java

After the good news from lunch, Brady wraps on his Chinese class and heads off to his Introduction to Java class. “Today should be interesting,” he prefaced. By that, he meant he and a team of his classmates were about to go head to head in a competition project they had been working on for the past few weeks.

Groups of three went head to head in Greeps, a coding competition wherein groups of students were tasked with creating java script for several alien “Greeps” as they navigated randomly generated levels and collected points.

“My groupmates and I had a huge breakthrough last night,” Brady said “I’m pretty confident we’re gonna win.”

1:34pm - Geometry

For his last class of the day, Brady heads upstairs to Geometry, where his class is currently working on writing out proofs. After the final bell, prayer, and afternoon announcements, Brady heads down to Kenealy Commons to relax and get some work done. “You caught me on the rare day where I have nothing going on,” he said. Usually, after class, he’d be heading over to Kaneb Theater for rehearsal, but today he’s spending it getting ahead on work.
