About St. John's
A single person can change the world for good. But they need to be prepared. St. John's is a place where students prep for what's next.
A single person can change the world for good. But they need to be prepared. St. John's is a place where students prep for what's next.
The Xaverian Brothers founded St. John’s Prep in 1907 when congregation member Brother Benjamin envisioned a school with good at its core. A place that could light the way. More than 15,000 graduates later, that vision endures. At St. John’s Prep, we believe education is not only a means of advancement, but a path of self-discovery.
The Prep represents more than a superlative academic experience. It means guiding our students toward becoming their best selves. We teach the skills they need to interpret and respond to a global society, all while empowering them to become young men of hope, faith, and wisdom. As Brother Benjamin put it, “Learning is an instrument of education, not its end.”
Our teachers energize and inspire young men from grades 6 through 12 to recognize and appreciate their own, unique goodness—and to own it. The Prep is a place where support and personal connections are part of everyday life, enriching every student’s journey. It’s a place where students celebrate moments of success, persevere through challenges, and embrace their capacity to both do good and do well.
Located in Danvers, Massachusetts with a distinctive campus feel spread amongst 10 academic, co-curricular, and athletic buildings spanning 175-acres, St. John’s has an enrollment of approximately 1,500 students from more than 90 different communities across seven grade levels. A big campus with big resources means big dreams, big opportunities, big benefits, and big outcomes. Yet each young man here is known as an individual—valued and guided in small classes by educators who understand them at this juncture in their own development.
