Academics

The first lesson we teach: Question everything.

Dr. Ford challenged his class to figure out what it takes for a rocket to leave the atmosphere. Mr. Dooley used yarn to demonstrate how your actions can affect the world. That’s what classes are like here. Different. Creative. Energized. We want our students to go for the deeper understanding – of themselves, their classmates, and beyond. We challenge our 1,500 boys starting in grade 6 all the way through grade 12 to learn a world more than calculus, Chinese, or robotics. We show them how to know good. Do good. Change the world for good. Inside and outside of class.

A fist bump for peace.
There’s nothing average or ordinary about Mr. Boutin. He’s served in the Peace Corps and lived in a hut in Tanzania. Last year, to better understand the Xaverian Brothers’ value of simplicity, he moved into a 128-square foot home. He’ll greet you (“Welcome, Brother!”) with a “fist bump for peace.” He’s just one of our teachers who chooses to work for GOOD.
