Mr. Broderick's Blog
You found my blog! Now you can truly be at peace and begin your journey to enlightenment. My name is Tim Broderick and I graduated from St. John's in 2005. I went to Boston College and then came back to the Prep immediately. It's like I never left high school. This is my fifth year teaching history and computer science. I also coach sports that begin with letter S - soccer, skiing and sailing. I hope you enjoy the blog, but I know you already feel better just from my intro. Enlightenment is within reach. See you around campus and go make it a great day.
Ultimate Eagle Challenge
The first Ultimate Eagle Challenge took place this weekend. Started by Biology teacher Chris Borgatti, the challenge tests students physical fitness AND intelligence levels. That intelligence bit weeds out a lot of wannabe contenders. Besides the physical challenges of lugging heavy buckets full of water and running two miles around the track, there were puzzles and other brain teasers spread throughout campus which the students had to solve in between the physical tests. Some of these were crossword puzzles and Prep history you needed to memorize. The winner, Peter Kilcommons, is pictured above crossing the finish line. He is officially the Prep's ULTIMATE EAGLE. I must admit, Peter was my understudy on the JV soccer team, so my wits and physical conditioning obviously have rubbed off on him. The event is going to happen again in the Fall and Peter will have to defend his title. Thanks to Chris Borgatti for setting this up. We need ultimate eagles. Below is freshman John Long. He looks to be having a great time.
