Posted 01/27/2010 10:00PM

Dr. Richard Weissbourd, author of "The Parents We Mean To Be, How Well-Intentioned Adults Undermine Children's Moral and Emotional Development" will speak at St. John's on Wednesday, February 3 from 7 to 9 pm. Dr. Weissbourd is a renowned child and family psychologist and is on the faculty of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and School Education.

Dr. Weissbourd, a father of three, is acutely aware of the daily parenting challenges parents face today. He will share his road map of what many parents are doing correctly and present ways for parents to consider adjusting their present parenting course. He writes, "“What matters most as a parent is not whether my wife and I are ‘perfect’ role models or how much we talk about values, but the hundreds of ways – as living, breathing, imperfect human beings—we influence our children in the complex, messy relationships we have with them day to day.”

The program will take place in the Memorial Gymnasium on the Prep campus and is open to parents and friends of the Prep community. To help us plan, click here to RSVP, there is no charge for the presentation.

The evening is part of the PREP Parent Council Speaker Series. For more information, email Denise DeChristoforo or call 978-774-6727 ext. 297.
