St. John’s Prep is pleased to announce that Sarah C. Powers has been named Director of Admission at the school. She will be responsible for all aspects of the enrollment management program, including recruitment, admission and enrollment at the Prep.
“We are very pleased to welcome Sarah as a member of the Prep community. Her commitment to education, and the energy, passion and experience she brings to her work will be a valuable resource for parents and students as they get to know St. John’s and go through the admission process,” said Principal Keith Crowley, PhD, in making the announcement.
Before coming to St. John's, Powers was associate director of admission at Pingree School in South Hamilton, where she also served as a college counselor and director of alumni relations at Pingree. In her new role, she replaces Phil McManus '97, who is leaving St. John's to become principal at Saint Raphael School in Medford.
"I look forward to joining St. John's and becoming part of a school community that is committed to creating the best learning environment for young men to cultivate their mind and spirit," said Powers.
Prior to working in independent schools, she was an account executive at Edelman Public Relations in New York City and Boston. She holds a BA in history from Dartmouth College, where she was starting goaltender on the school’s NCAA Final Four Lacrosse Team. She serves as head coach and program director for Synergy Lacrosse and co-president of the New England Prep School Womens Lacrosse Association. She lives in Topsfield, Massachusetts, with her husband and children.
