St. John's Prep is proud to report that senior Joshua Lang has been selected as a semifinalist in the 2012 U.S. Presidential Scholars program.

Established in 1964, the U.S. Presidential Scholars program recognizes some of the country’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors for superior academic or artistic achievement, leadership qualities, strong character and involvement in community and school activities.

From the nearly 3.2 million graduating high school seniors nationwide, 3,000 were selected as candidates for the program, and 500 were then named semifinalists. In May, the Commission on Presidential Scholars will meet to select approximately 141 U.S. Presidential Scholars for 2012. They will name one young man and one young woman from each state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. students living abroad; 15 students at-large; and up to 20 students from the creative and performing arts.
