Strength & Speed Camp

Take it to the next level! Looking for a high intensity, core strength and conditioning program that delivers guaranteed results?

Open for students in grades 7 through 12, this six-week commitment challenges athletes with a combination of strength exercises, Olympic lifts, and speed training. Improves endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.

Work out in the newly renovated Fitness Center and Brother Linus Athletic Commons at St. John's Prep. Take a look at four stations in a typical workout.

  • Strength & Power Lifting: 20 minutes—squats, presses, deadlift, olympic lifts (power clean, clean and jerk, snatch).
  • Agility: 20 minutes—cone drills, ladder drills, sprinting, hill sprints, form running, etc.
  • Not Your Typical Training: 20 minutes—sled pulling, tire flipping, 'the tug', battling ropes, lifting tree stumps, boot camp type training.
  • Speed: 20 minutes—dot drill, jumping rope, box jumps, plyometrics.
